03.07.2024, 10.00 Uhr

Guest Lecture @ Universtät zu Köln – Department Kunst und Musik

This guest lecture was about ways to create interactive digital art, using cables. Cables is a free and open tool that allows people with no programming experience to create interactive digital artworks. From an interactive website to audio-visual AR experiences, cables can be used to realise a wide range of ideas. The talk gave an insight into the possibilities of the tool, present resources for learning cables and provide a space to discuss individual questions.

Imaginary patterns, personal myths and narratives

Montanha Mágica Arte e Paisagem @ Universidade da Beira Interior, Covilhã montanhamagica.ubi.pt

16–17 Novembro 2023

with Karin Lignau, Prof. hans w. koch, Dr. Tania de León Yong

In Imaginary Patterns, Personal Myths, and Narratives, we go through an insitu artistic exploration, delving into the surrounding environment through visits to museums, mountain hikes, and studies of literature encompassing subjects such as wool textiles and azulejos, all within the context of the Serra da Estrela. Our central focus is to interpret the recurring patterns within the mountain landscape, seeking to capture the mountain’s temporal perspective and translate these patterns through sonic practices. Additionally, we search for visual imagery suitable for animated loops and explore the intersections of various pattern levels, which may ultimately be sonified in diverse ways, incorporating electronic elements and onsite found objects.
